🎯Our first "PD After 5" was a success!! Maintaining the CCDP® designation is about much more than completing hours, it’s about strengthening the credibility, professionalism, and recognition of career development professionals across Ontario and Canada. Thank you to our colleagues Lindsay Murphy-Guitard and Tara Deveau, BRM CCDPcm from Career Certification for an incredibly informative and practical session last Tuesday, May 26, on CCDP® designation maintenance requirements and the value of ongoing professional development. The session highlighted that maintaining the CCDP® designation helps ensure that the credential continues to hold meaning and public trust. It demonstrates that professionals carrying the CCDP® designation are actively investing in learning, growth, and ethical practice throughout their careers. Some key reminders shared during the session included: ❇️ CCDPs must complete 60 hours of professional development every 3 years ❇️ PD activities must align with competencies in the National Competency Profile ❇️ Learning must reflect new knowledge, skills, or approaches, not simply routine daily work ❇️ Submissions are reviewed for relevance and appropriateness ❇️ The online PD portal helps professionals track competencies and progress throughout the cycle The presentation also reinforced an important message: professional development is intentional learning. Workshops, conferences, certifications, mentorship, governance training, emerging trends, AI in career development, accessibility, trauma-informed practice, and evolving service delivery models can all contribute to maintaining strong and current practice. As our profession continues to evolve, maintaining the CCDP® designation helps: ✔ strengthen public confidence ✔ support professional accountability ✔ recognize ongoing expertise ✔ reinforce high standards in career development practice At CDPOntario, we value opportunities that help career development professionals stay informed, connected, and recognized for the important work they do every day. To learn more about this topic, check the Career Certification website: https://lnkd.in/e6XTm8XN 🔜 We are also pleased to share that CDPOntario is continuing to expand the value of membership through the development of our Members Only area on the website. • Congratulations Zeenat Yasir, CCDP® ! It’s a great achievement and we are happy to welcome you to the National CCDP community!!

I’m incredibly proud to share that I am now a Nationally Certified Career Development Professional (CCDP). From imagining it next to my name on LinkedIn to actually being able to put it there, this moment feels truly special. This milestone is more than a certification-it reflects a journey of continuous learning, growth, and a deep commitment to supporting individuals as they navigate their career paths with confidence and purpose. I’m sincerely grateful to the colleagues, mentors, peers, and clients who have supported, challenged, and inspired me along the way. Your guidance, trust, and encouragement have made a meaningful difference in reaching this point. Reaching this milestone feels especially meaningful as I prepare for maternity leave, grateful for how far I’ve come and excited for what lies ahead.
