With over 80,000 units produced, the MT-LB is still the backbone of Russian mechanized forces and remains highly relevant for military training and simulation. For our 3D model, we implemented a mid-poly workflow: - No high-to-low-poly baking, - Custom shaders combining tiled textures with global maps, - Mesh + shader decals for high-res details, - Trim sheets to minimize draw calls. This approach ensures shorter modeling times, consistent texture quality across distances, and optimized performance in VR — while preserving the MT-LB’s characteristic look. Spring’s finally here. It’s warm again so we can ditch the lining from our M65s 😉. We're off to the tank driving school in Beerfelde, where a BPz-2 tank is waiting for us. We're testing out different ways to efficiently get the tank’s interior into a VR environment. The interaction still needs some tweaking, but the VR is already looking pretty awesome.
