  • For retired Army Colonel Jason Evers, the mission didn’t end when he took off the uniform. After 26 years of service — including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan — he found a new challenge waiting for him high in the mountains of Leadville, Colorado. Now entering his fifth year with Team Leadville, Jason is once again training to take on one of the toughest races in the country, all while helping raise funds and awareness in support of veterans and first responders through Boulder Crest Foundation. But this race isn’t just about endurance. At nearly 14,000 feet above sea level, Leadville pushes runners to their absolute limits — physically, mentally, and emotionally. For Jason and the rest of Team Leadville, every mile is tied to a deeper purpose: showing up for those still fighting battles long after the uniform comes off. As race day approaches on June 27th, the team’s fundraising campaign is underway now… and the reason Jason keeps coming back year after year might surprise you. • The countdown to Leadville has officially begun. In one month, Team Leadville runners will take on one of the most demanding endurance races in the country in support of Boulder Crest Foundation and the veterans and first responders we serve. This team is made up of individuals from across the country who are choosing to run with purpose. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing runner stories, training updates, fundraising milestones, and the impact this mission is making through Boulder Crest programs. Follow along as we count down to race day and work toward our fundraising goal together. Leadville Race Series https://lnkd.in/e-Nv3xHV

  • Memorial Day Message from our CEO, Josh Goldberg: Last year, I had the privilege of spending time around the Army/Navy Game with Gold Star families — parents, spouses, siblings, and children who carry a loss most of us will never fully understand. It was a powerful reminder of what Memorial Day is truly about. For many, this weekend marks the start of summer. And while time with family and friends is something to be grateful for, Memorial Day is not meant to be celebrated — it is meant to be observed. It is a solemn day of remembrance for those who never came home, and for the families who carry that sacrifice every day. At Boulder Crest, we are reminded daily that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. Our responsibility is to walk alongside veterans, first responders, and their families as they carry what others cannot see. And perhaps the best way to honor those who gave everything is to live lives worthy of their sacrifice — by serving others, strengthening our communities, and ensuring no one has to carry their burden alone. Join us today at 12pm EST for a moment of silence. May we never forget those who gave everything for this country.

  • Memorial Day is a sacred day of remembrance. A day to pause and honor the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country — and the families who carry that sacrifice forever. We honor them by continuing to serve those who came home carrying the invisible wounds of war and service. This Memorial Day weekend, we invite you to stand with the Boulder Crest Foundation. Attend one of our events, honor a hero through our Honor Wall, or join our monthly giving society to ensure veterans, first responders, and their families have support every day of the year — or simply take a moment to reflect on the freedoms made possible through their sacrifice. Because the best way to honor sacrifice is to live a life worthy of it. _______________________________________ EVENTS: https://lnkd.in/eF7hQkzA HONOR WALL: https://lnkd.in/ewD74fAZ WAYS TO GIVE: https://lnkd.in/gJmA-7Ax

  • On September 11th, 17-year-old Ben Iobst watched the Twin Towers fall from a high school study hall. A few years later, he was fighting in Ramadi during some of the deadliest years of the Iraq War — before coming home to a career in law enforcement. But the battles didn’t end there. On the newest episode of the Struggle Well Podcast, Ben opens up about combat, hypervigilance, unhealthy coping, and the moment he realized strength meant something different than he’d been taught. What happens when the mission ends… but the fight follows you home? Subscribe and watch the full episode now: https://lnkd.in/eZ_zYV2a

  • Team Leadville was created to prove that endurance, grit, and purpose can change lives. What began as one runner taking on the Leadville Race Series to support veteran mental health has grown into a team united around a shared mission: ending veteran suicide and supporting Posttraumatic Growth for veterans and first responders through Boulder Crest Foundation. The Leadville course is one of the toughest endurance challenges in the country, demanding discipline, and perseverance. Those same qualities are reflected in the healing journey many veterans and first responders face after trauma. Throughout the next month, Team Leadville athletes will complete their training, race, and fundraise to ensure more veterans and first responders have access to life-changing programs at Boulder Crest Foundation. • On September 11th, 17-year-old Ben Iobst sat in study hall watching smoke pour from the Twin Towers — and in that moment, the course of his life changed. Three days after graduation, he left for Army Infantry basic training. What followed were years of war, loss, trauma, and a struggle he carried long after coming home — through Iraq, then law enforcement, and into a battle he nearly fought alone. For years, nobody saw just how close the weight of it all came to breaking him — or the unexpected moment that finally forced him to confront it.
