Thanks for having me on your show David! I appreciated our time together and hope your listeners will benefit from our conversation.

If you've ever found yourself cursing the process or rebelling against your own systems, this is the conversation for you! Because this week on Leading with Integrity, I'm chatting business operations systems, AI, coaching, technology, leadership and more with guest Scott Abbott. Scott shares his insights on leadership, business systems, and the evolving role of AI in the workplace, we reflect on his experiences from the dot-com era to the present, the importance of human connection and adaptability in leadership. We discuss the challenges leaders face today, the role of systems, people and the need for a balance between technology and humanity. Scott also talks about the lessons learned from his extensive coaching experience (over 10,000 sessions completed!), the evolving landscape of work-life balance/harmony, and what the future of leadership will need to look like for the future of our workplaces and society at large. Really enjoyable conversation, thank you Scott for spending the time with me! You Don't "Run" on a System (unless you want to be inhumane) Some people and some companies, say they “run on a system." Worse, they also say that they live that systems life. It's as if doing both is a badge of honor. Go figure. Let’s be clear: no company actually runs on a system, let alone an acronym. Companies run on people, decisions, behaviors, teamwork, and execution. Systems are tools. Let’s be clear: no company actually runs on a system, let alone an acronym. Companies run on people, decisions, behaviors, teamwork, and execution. Systems are tools. And when a tool/brand becomes more important than the people it should be serving, something is off. Way off. High-performing companies don’t run on systems; they leverage them. They take what works, adapt what doesn’t, tailor it to their needs, and evolve as their business evolves. Because no single framework has all the answers. Not for your people. Not for your market. Not for the pace of change we’re dealing with today. And that’s where organizations get stuck. They think they’re adhering to "purity." In reality, they’re getting fooled. They start following instead of thinking. Complying instead of adapting. And over time, that cult-like captivity limits performance instead of improving it. There’s a better way. Use systems. Learn from them. Leverage them. But don’t hand over your identity to them. Your company doesn’t run on a framework or letters. It runs on you and your teams energy, leadership, standards, productivity, skills, and the ability to deliver. If you want to pressure-test that, don’t take my word for it; compare. Look at what helps you build, run, grow, and scale a consistenly great company. Your business operating system should be all about you, not them. Because the goal isn’t to operate inside a rigid, one-size-fits-all, over-hyped, antiquated system. That's like being a devotee of Scientology. The goal is to leverage a modern, flexible, accessible, inclusive, and affordable solution that helps you run a great company and live a great life. And those are two very different approaches. The choice is yours. Please choose wisely.

JOIN SCOTT ON TV Scott Abbott visited with WISH-TV's Business Equity and Opportunity show, for a conversation about his BOS-UP books and BOS-UP Coaching Solution & Academy. He talked about how together with our coaches, we help leaders build, run, scale, and exit great companies. They discussed the importance of strengthening leadership, management, teamwork, and accountability through intentional clarity, structure, and alignment. And they explored how that same focus and determination helps individuals become their best in business, work, and life. It was a truly meaningful discussion, and we appreciate the thoughtful questions and the chance to share. Thank you, WISH TV! https://lnkd.in/gW33p4vS

TRUTH BE TOLD Too many leaders didn’t choose to give up leadership: they slowly handed it over. Frameworks and systems were meant to support thinking, not replace it. But somewhere along the way, structure became authority, acronyms became excuses, and judgment took a back seat. A framework can bring clarity, but it can’t build culture, make decisions, or lead people. Humans do that. That’s why the best organizations don’t “run on” a system. They leverage what works, discard what doesn’t, adapt as they grow, and keep people at the center. There’s a big difference between being framework-informed and framework-driven. One creates momentum. The other creates dependency. In a world moving too fast for standardizing on stagnant, outdated binders or logo hype - leadership requires more than rigid formulas; it requires modern, collaborative, accessible solutions and healthy accountability. This brief video helps explain the why, who, and how behind BOS-UP: Why we exist, who we’re for, and how we approach leadership differently. We’re not about templating or dogma. We’re about supporting leaders, coaches, and teams with solutions and humanity; systems that serve people, not the other way around. If you believe leadership comes from humans doing the work, this one’s worth a watch. Thanks for your time.

One of the most important responsibilities of leadership is creating space for people to grow, not just professionally, but personally. This week, our team participated in an IMPACT 365 Lunch & Learn with Scott Abbott, business coach and author of BOS-Up Moments. Before the session, each office team member received a copy of the book and selected a word or “moment” that resonated most. Alignment. Accountability. Energy. Leadership. Teamwork. Coachable. What made this session especially meaningful is that Scott has been working closely with our leadership team for nearly seven years. His perspective has helped shape how we think about leadership, accountability, and culture at CCB. Bringing his expertise to the broader office team felt like a natural and important next step as we continue investing in our people through IMPACT 365. Scott led thoughtful conversation around how these moments show up in our daily work and how small, intentional choices can have a lasting impact on culture. Growth does not come from a single session or a single book. It comes from consistency, reinforcement, and a shared commitment to getting better together. Thank you, Scott Abbott, for continuing to challenge and support our team. And a shout out to DayDream Media for capturing the session so thoughtfully and professionally. I challenge other business leaders to read BOS-Up Moments and identify one moment that resonates with you or your organization. Small shifts in focus can create lasting impact. Charles C. n this video, I reflect on the Indiana University football team and what they represent. An undefeated season does not happen by accident; it is built on belief, focus, preparation, discipline, and alignment. What stands out most is the consistency, clarity, and shared commitment that show up week after week. When a team knows who they are, why they are playing, and how they are executing ... momentum becomes real, visible, and sustainable. I draw parallels between that level of performance and the work we are doing at BOS-UP. In both athletics and business, excellence is created through strong fundamentals, systems, repetition, and trust. High-performing teams do not rely on momentary hype or heroics; they rely on good structure, clear communication, and disciplined execution. When expectations are defined and everyone is aligned around a common mission, performance scales with confidence. At its core, this heartfelt message is about genuine appreciation and momentum. Appreciation for BOS-UP's partnership with Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, Indiana Business Research Center, and the collective demonstration of leadership and teamwork in alignment with the our BOS-UP coaches, clients, and allies. As we move forward into 2026 and beyond, the takeaway is simple: stay focused on the essential fundamentals, stay aligned, and keep building with purpose. And Go IU!
