Can art inspire people to take action? In Salt Lake City, the Wake the Great Salt Lake public art initiative helped raise awareness around the decline of the Great Salt Lake. ✨ Introducing the Global Scholars Alumni Network ✨ Last month, alongside #CityLabMadrid, we welcomed representative alumni from 9 cities across 7 countries for the inaugural Global Scholars Alumni Convening—and the launch of a new global community built around connection, collaboration, and civic engagement. These young adults first connected through our Global Scholars #virtualexchange program at ages 10–13, collaborating across borders to explore global challenges and design local solutions in their communities. Years later, they came back together with the same spirit of curiosity and collaboration—this time as emerging leaders helping shape the future of their cities. The Global Scholars Alumni Network will support alumni as they continue connecting, collaborating, and leading across borders—building on a shared foundation of global knowledge, cultural understanding, and #civicparticipation. The work doesn’t end in the classroom. It grows into a global community of young people committed to solving challenges together.
