Last week, the BBT team had the opportunity to participate in the Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Show, a creative fundraiser celebrating sustainability, reuse, and community.
Our entry, Material Morphosis, transformed reclaimed upholstery fabric, drapery sheers, wallcovering, and archived material samples from our library into a runway-ready design, created and modeled by Sherry Jako. We were also thrilled to cheer on BBT intern Devon Lizza, whose imaginative and beautifully crafted piece was another highlight of the evening.
As architects and designers, we think a lot about materials, lifecycle, and the creative potential of what already exists. Events like Rubbish Renewed are a fun and inspiring reminder that sustainability and creativity often go hand in hand.
Thank you to everyone at Rubbish Renewed, the organizers, volunteers, designers, artists, and fellow participants who made the evening such a success. We loved being part of an event that supports a great cause while bringing so much imagination and energy to the community.
Design is a conversation. Sometimes it’s also a runway. ♻️✨
