Accessibility in the U.S. is entering a new era. From stronger enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act in digital spaces to new standards like Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines shaping sidewalks and streets, accessibility is no longer optional—it’s measurable, enforceable, and expected. State and local government websites are now required to meet WCAG 2.1 standards, while cities are being held accountable for curb ramps, crossings, and pedestrian access. At the same time, healthcare is evolving with new requirements for accessible medical equipment—and courts continue to push businesses toward compliance through ongoing litigation. This is a shift from awareness → accountability. And it’s exactly why real-world accessibility data matters more than ever. #Accessibility #ADA #InclusiveDesign #DisabilityRights #AXSMap

Accessibility is no longer optional—it’s the law. Starting April 2026, public institutions in the U.S. will be required to make their websites and mobile apps fully accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act—meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards for digital access. That means everything from websites to apps to PDFs must be usable for people living with disabilities—designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. This is a huge step forward. But accessibility doesn’t stop at the screen. Because even if a website says a place is “accessible”… that doesn’t always match real-world experience. That’s where AXS Map comes in. AXS Map brings accessibility into the real world—powered by people sharing what spaces are actually like on the ground. Digital accessibility is about access to information. AXS Map is about access to the world. The future is both. ttps://https://lnkd.in/dr-h2mPx Download AXS Map for ios: https://lnkd.in/e83kt2-C Download AXS Map for Android: https://lnkd.in/e8xkFpdf #Accessibility #ADA #DigitalAccessibility #InclusiveDesign #DisabilityRights #WCAG #AccessibilityMatters #AssistiveTechnology #Inclusion #TechForGood #AIforGood #UniversalDesign #AXSMap #MapAccessibility #DisabilityInclusion #AccessibleTechnology #AccessibilityForAll #Innovation

Accessibility should work for everyone, no hands required. With AXS Map’s new hands-free voice review feature, you can now map places using just your voice. For people with visual impairments, this means no need to navigate complex screens. For people who can’t use their hands, it removes a major barrier to participation. Just speak, and your experience becomes part of the map. Because accessibility isn’t just about places. It’s about who gets to share their experience of them. Head to axsmap.com to check it out! A major court in India just said something simple—but powerful: Accessibility isn’t optional. It’s a fundamental right. In a recent ruling, the Allahabad High Court directed that residential buildings must include ramps, lifts, accessible parking, and shared spaces—making it clear that accessibility extends beyond public spaces and into where people live every day. Because access doesn’t stop at the front door. At AXS Map, we see this every day. Accessibility isn’t just about whether a place exists—it’s about whether people can actually enter, move, and live fully inside it. This is why mapping accessibility matters. Because what gets measured gets improved. And what gets seen becomes harder to ignore. The world is starting to recognize accessibility as a right. Now we have to make sure it becomes a reality. https://lnkd.in/e7xq32fY Download AXS Map for ios: https://lnkd.in/e83kt2-C Download AXS Map for Google Play: https://lnkd.in/e8xkFpdf #Accessibility #DisabilityRights #Inclusion #UniversalDesign #AccessibleLiving #AXSMap #DisabilityInclusion #UrbanPlanning #SmartCities #Equity #AccessForAll #HumanRights #InclusiveDesign #SocialImpact

When emergencies happen, accessibility can be the difference between safety and danger. 🚨 During the current missile attacks on Israel, advocates have filed a petition asking the government to create an evacuation plan for people with disabilities and elderly residents who cannot physically reach shelters in time. The case argues that despite existing disability rights laws, no operational evacuation system currently exists for many wheelchair users and homebound individuals. About 20% of Israel’s population lives with disabilities, and many may not be able to reach protected spaces during short warning times. Moments like this remind us: Accessibility isn’t just about convenience — it’s about survival. That’s why AXS Map exists — to make accessibility visible and push communities to design environments that work for everyone. https://lnkd.in/emdDeBKw? Accessibility matters everywhere — even at the “Happiest Place on Earth.” 🎢 Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) program — designed to help guests who cannot tolerate long queues — has come under scrutiny after recent policy changes limited who qualifies for accommodations. The company has now agreed to review the impact of those changes following pressure from shareholders and advocates. It’s a reminder that accessibility isn’t static — it needs constant attention, transparency, and input from the disability community. That’s exactly why AXS Map exists: to make accessibility visible, measurable, and accountable in the real world. When we map accessibility, we push organizations to do better. Accessibility shouldn’t be optional — it should be part of the experience for everyone. https://lnkd.in/e_5j7gPU Download AXS Map: ios: https://lnkd.in/e83kt2-C Google: https://lnkd.in/fEdtpCq... #Accessibility #DisabilityRights #InclusiveDesign #UniversalDesign #AXSMap #AccessibilityMatters #InclusiveTravel #DisabilityAdvocacy #AccessibleExperiences #TechForGood #Disney #DisneyAccessibility

Big tech is stepping up on accessibility. 💻 The UK government recently brought together Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, and disability organizations to explore how technology can break down barriers to employment for people living with disabilities. The discussion focused on tools like screen readers, real-time captions, and AI-powered visual description, which are already helping make workplaces more accessible. Technology has the power to unlock opportunity — but accessibility must be built in from the start. That’s the same philosophy behind AXS Map: making accessibility visible so people can find spaces, workplaces, and communities that work for everyone. 🌍 Accessibility isn’t just good design — it’s opportunity. https://lnkd.in/eMvRiR6j Download AXS Map: ios: https://lnkd.in/e83kt2-C Google Play store: https://lnkd.in/e8xkFpdf #Accessibility #DisabilityInclusion #InclusiveDesign #TechForGood #FutureOfWork #AXSMap #AccessibilityMatters #DisabilityRights #InclusiveTech #AccessibleWorkplaces

A major step for accessibility in film. 🎬 India’s Delhi High Court has directed government regulators and the film certification board to ensure movies include accessibility features like audio description, captions, and sign language so people with visual or hearing disabilities can enjoy films too. Accessibility shouldn’t be optional—it should be built into culture, technology, and public spaces from the start. That’s the same idea behind AXS Map: making accessibility visible so everyone can participate fully in everyday life. https://lnkd.in/esBwvmjz? Massachusetts just released a statewide digital accessibility strategy to ensure government websites and digital services work for everyone. That means building accessibility into technology from the start—not fixing it later. At AXS Map, we believe the same principle applies everywhere: accessibility shouldn’t be an afterthought—it should be mapped, measured, and made visible. The more cities and governments prioritize accessibility, the closer we get to a world that works for everyone. https://lnkd.in/eQ-H4f4v Download AXS Map: ios: https://lnkd.in/e83kt2-C Google play store: https://lnkd.in/e8xkFpdf #Accessibility #DigitalAccessibility #DisabilityRights #InclusiveDesign #AXSMap #AccessibilityMatters #ADA #TechForGood #InclusiveTech #AccessibilityForAll
