ATIS' Next G Alliance Partners with NetworkX Americas for the 2026 6G Summit In Las Colinas, TX, leaders and subject matter experts from around the world met at the 6th Annual 6G Summit Workshop Day, produced by the Next G Alliance and NetworkX Americas. Keynotes, led by NGA Managing Director Jaydee Griffith and Full Member Group Chair Robert Soni (AT&T), set the stage for the workshop, illustrating the landscape of 6G as it stands today. 💡Key Takeaways: - 6G must enable a wide array of advanced technologies, including AI/ML, Digital Twins, ISAC, and more. - Equally important to technology, the market must be adequately prepared for successful 6G deployment. This means proper identification of viable use cases for 6G tech today, not tomorrow. - The AI-native 6G ecosystem must be sustainably developed throughout its lifecycle to address energy and societal challenges introduced by data centers. - Global standardization efforts are already underway and will prove critical in realizing the ultimate success of 6G. #6G #NextG #NGA #6GSummit #Telecom #ICT #AI #DataCenters #Standards

What does the 6G security landscape look like in a post-quantum world? Scott Poretsky (Ericsson), Co-Chair of ATIS' Enhanced Zero Trust and 5G group within its TOPS Program, moderates a panel at the Network X Americas 6G Summit on what must be done to ensure network security and resiliency in a post-quantum world driven by AI-native networks. #TOPS #AI #Quantum #ATIS #EZT #ZeroTrust #ICT #Standards #3GPP
I will be moderating an important 6G Security panel "Quantum-resilient networks and AI-driven defense" on Monday May 18 during the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (#ATIS) 6G Summit at #NetworkX Americas 2026 in Dallas. Along with panelists Jana Westover and Jerry Jae Yeol Kim, we will be providing insights for these timely questions: *How have recent sophisticated nation-state cyberattacks influenced your cybersecurity strategy? *Why is quantum computing a threat to our communications networks? *Why is securing AI in communications networks becoming a high priority? What is the impact if AI is not secure? *What are some best practices that should be considered when securing AI? *What should be industry’s standardization strategy for PQC and AI security? #6G #cybersecurity #criticalinfrastructure #teamericsson Karl-Johan Nybell | Akhil Gokul | Joe Constantine | Bhushan Joshi | Havish Koorapaty | Hendry Tong | Kumar Balachandran | Ranjeet Bhattacharya | Paul Challoner | Jose Alonso Rubio | Eva Hedfors | Saul Olvera | Chip Matthias

New ATIS Report Addresses Resilient Timing Architecture for 5G Communications Networks As communications networks become increasingly dependent on precise timing and synchronization, the telecommunications industry faces a growing challenge: reliance on vulnerable Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies. ATIS’ new report, Resilient Timing Architecture for 5G Communications Networks, examines the GNSS vulnerabilities impacting the sector and outlines resilient architectural approaches to mitigate these risks. The report also provides practical guidance for network operators, equipment manufacturers, policymakers, and the broader timing community as the industry works to strengthen the resilience and security of 5G communications networks. Thanks to Lee Cosart (Microchip Technology Inc.), Chair of SYNC, ATIS’ Synchronization Committee, which developed the report: https://lnkd.in/ewXm7-BA #5G #Telecommunications #NetworkResilience #Cybersecurity #Timing #Synchronization #GNSS #CriticalInfrastructure #NetworkSecurity #Innovation #ATIS

The Intuition of the Signal: How ATIS AI Network Applications See Through the Noise of 6G ATIS' AI Network Applications (ANA) Group is tackling one of the telecom industry’s most consequential questions: how can generative AI evolve beyond basic automation to enable truly intelligent, adaptive networks? Among its two priority initiatives—the Wireless Physical-Layer Foundation Model and the Cognitive Assistant for Network Operators—the latter is now emerging as a tangible system: the ANA Neuro-Symbolic Cognitive Assistant (NESY). NESY is purpose-built for the realities of next-generation networks. Designed with 6G architectures in mind, it addresses the challenges of high-dimensional data streams and complex, non-linear interference—laying the groundwork for more resilient, responsive, and intelligent network operations. https://lnkd.in/eYFeY9ES #Telecom #AI #GenerativeAI #6G #NetworkInnovation #DigitalTransformation #NextGenNetworks #MachineLearning #TechLeadership

As we move toward 6G, Digital Twins are no longer optional—they are becoming essential infrastructure for innovation, efficiency, and resilience. The Digital Twin (DT) Panel, hosted by the ATIS Next G Alliance’s Technology Roadmap Working Group, brought together leading voices from industry and academia to explore the future of Digital Twins in the 6G era. With participation from Ericsson, Qualcomm, InterDigital, Inc., Nokia, and The University of Texas at Austin the discussion highlighted how RAN digital twins are poised to play a strategic role in next-generation networks. Panelists aligned on a clear theme: Digital Twins will become a foundational environment for 6G development and experimentation. As networks evolve to depend heavily on AI/ML-driven automation, there is a growing need for controlled, scalable environments where models can be trained, validated, and rigorously stress-tested, without impacting live operations. RAN digital twins provide exactly that capability by replicating real network behavior and enabling large-scale experimentation that simply isn’t feasible in production systems. Another critical advantage discussed was the ability of digital twins to generate synthetic data—unlocking new opportunities for training AI models where real-world data may be limited, sensitive, or costly to obtain. https://lnkd.in/ejZbhmXE #6G #DigitalTwin #NextGAlliance #AI #MachineLearning #Telecom #RAN #NetworkInnovation #FutureNetworks #WirelessTechnology #TechLeadership
