Updates

  • Come see the newly opened: Portraits & Expressions, the second annual exhibition in Corridor 106 Gallery, established through a partnership of Midtown Collaboration Center co-tenants Assembly for the Arts and Cleveland Arts Prize. Featuring work by a dynamic group of award-winning NEO artists: Anthony Ford, Thomas Hudson, Amber Kempthorn, Alyssa Lizzini, Frank Oriti, Corrie Slawson, and Lauren Yeager, the show highlights their distinct voices whose practices reinterpret the human experience through gesture, imagination, and the intimate act of looking. This exhibition pairs realism with abstraction, narrative with symbolism, and observation with memory—revealing the many ways artists shape identity on canvas and paper. Corridor 106 is open Monday through Friday, 8AM to 6PM, at the corner of Euclid Avenue and E. 66th Street. • For Assembly, Deidre McPherson, our chief community officer, draws on her deep love for the arts and her skills as a connector and coalition builder to help advance Greater Cleveland’s arts and culture scene. Recently, CAN Journal profiled Deidre and her education and career experience, highlighting how they prepared her for this advocacy role. “Our mission is to help Greater Cleveland be a great region of the arts and equity—which haven’t always gone hand in hand—so we help create partnerships and collaborations, connecting organizations and people so that everyone feels connected to the opportunities that help people thrive,” Deidre said. “I play a role behind the scenes, building community engagement based on inclusion. My work is rooted in collaboration, making connections and thinking about arts and culture at a macro level and how it connects to other industries.” Read more at https://lnkd.in/e_kRpVWX @dmcphcle @canjournal

  • At the Spring Assembly, we convened artists, arts workers, and supporters to hear about "Love Cleveland Neighborhoods," a campaign by Destination Cleveland and Cleveland Neighborhood Progress to shine a light on Cleveland’s 29 neighborhoods. Let’s be clear: Cleveland is not boring. It’s vibrant, expressive, and full of life—powered by neighbors, artists, cultural organizations, and creative businesses who are shaping what our city feels like. From free festivals to neighborhood pop-ups, the arts are a driving force behind community pride and connection. This work doesn’t happen by accident. It’s led by creatives and sustained by investment—from government, corporations, foundations, and individuals—who understand that strong arts and culture ecosystems are essential to thriving neighborhoods and our region’s future. Love Cleveland Neighborhoods is a reminder—and a call to action—to keep showing up, investing, and telling our stories. We’re grateful to our partners Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and Destination Cleveland for creating this platform to amplify this message. 📣 Artists & organizations—share your events! Submit your events to Destination Cleveland’s calendar: https://buff.ly/B0dFtMj Special thanks to Sierra Delaine for an unforgettable performance, and to Yum Village for keeping us nourished. 📸 Photos by Vince Robinson @vince.robinson @lovecleneighborhoods @thisiscle @neighborhoodprogress @sierra_delaine @clevelandartsprize @yumvillagecle
