𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐈 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 There's a certain point you reach with AI where things start to feel… settled. Work moves faster. Fewer obvious errors show up. Teams aren't chasing the same issues as before. On most days, it feels like the system is holding well. I've noticed that this is also the point where we tend to ask fewer questions. Because nothing is visibly breaking. But when you sit a little longer with the work, especially across different accounts or review cycles, small patterns begin to show up. Not errors in the usual sense. More like inconsistencies that don't get flagged because the output still looks acceptable. And that's where reliance on AI needs a different kind of discipline. AI doesn't challenge the process. It follows it closely, and repeats it with a level of consistency that's difficult to match manually. Which is useful, until the process itself has grey areas. In those cases, the system doesn't fail. It just keeps making the same decision in slightly different contexts. Over time, those decisions start to shape outcomes in ways that aren't always immediately visible. You don't notice it in a single report. You notice it when something feels off, but it's hard to pinpoint where. What has helped in those moments is going back to a few basics. Looking at how decisions are being made, not just whether the output is correct. Checking if the same situation is being handled the same way across teams and cases. And most importantly, making sure teams stay close to the "why" behind the work, not just the "what next." Because once that distance increases, it becomes very easy to trust the system more than the process. I think this is where the conversation around AI will gradually move. Less about how much it can handle, and more about how clearly the process around it is defined. Maybe that is the balance we need to hold on to. Continuing to build with AI, while staying equally close to the discipline that makes its outcomes reliable over time.
