#Hiring: What if your next role could help strengthen not just one mission, but nonprofits across every issue area throughout San Diego County? Amplified Impact Partners is hiring a Director of Development to help lead our next chapter of growth and community impact. This is a unique opportunity to help strengthen nonprofits working across youth and family services, homelessness and housing, food security, education, the arts, environmental stewardship, veterans services, and beyond — all while working alongside an extraordinary network of experienced business and civic leaders committed to building a stronger region. In 2025 alone, Amplified had 63 nonprofit consulting teams active throughout San Diego County supporting organizations tackling some of our community’s most pressing challenges. Now, we’re looking for a strategic, relationship-oriented development leader who is energized by meaningful work, collaborative culture, and the chance to help grow a dynamic organization making a lasting difference across our region. New Partner Spotlight: Jennifer Kylstad Hershman, LEED AP has done her share of value creation on a national level. With more than 35 years of experience spanning construction, renewable energy, and real estate development, she has led complex projects and national community engagement strategies across the country. Now, this San Diego native is channeling that experience toward impact closer to home. Already deeply involved with hands-on community efforts connected to food rescue, literacy, and education, Jennifer sought out Amplified to supplement how she gives back. “I’ve spent years supporting nonprofits beyond San Diego, and I’m excited to now focus locally," says Jennifer. "Being a Partner with Amplified will give me the opportunity to build relationships with like-minded professionals, collaborate and brainstorm on creative solutions, and strengthen my overall understanding of the community's needs and the nonprofits I support." Is it time to add a new dimension to the charitable work you do? Don’t miss your chance to attend a "Why Amplified" info session this month to learn more. Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/gGT3zkUk

One idea we continue to come back to: what if philanthropy’s greatest impact comes not from outcomes, but from strengthening the organizations behind them? This is the thinking behind our Sponsored Engagements at Amplified — an approach we recently explored at a panel hosted by the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation, “Innovative Approaches to Investing in Nonprofits.” By funding an Amplified consulting team to support a nonprofit you care about, you’re not just making a contribution — you’re helping build the internal infrastructure, strategy, and leadership needed for long-term success. Great to join Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties in celebrating 50 years of impact alongside a community of funders, partners, and leaders shaping the future of our region. Catalyst has played a critical role in building a more connected and data-informed social sector, and we’re proud to stand alongside organizations working toward the same goal: stronger nonprofits and a stronger San Diego. Evenings like this are a reminder that lasting change is built through collective effort — and we’re grateful to be part of a network committed to moving that work forward. with Deanna Wolf, MPA, Erica Halpern, Shaina Gross

If you’ve built deep expertise over your career, you may be asking: Where else can I make my mark? For Karen Winston, it wasn't a matter of if she'd become a Partner at Amplified, but when. Long a fan of Amplified's model of pro bono consulting for deserving nonprofits, she jumped in quickly after retirement. “Working with Amplified feels like a natural next chapter using what I’ve learned to be genuinely helpful in my community — grounded in shared learning, building new relationships, and knowing my contribution truly adds value.” Karen brings more than 40 years of experience in marketing and communications, now applied alongside nonprofit leaders to strengthen organizations from the inside out. If you’re looking for a way to give back at a high level — not just volunteer, but contribute your expertise in a meaningful, lasting way — let’s start the conversation. https://lnkd.in/gGT3zkUk

It's energizing to think of the possibilities that emerge when philanthropists, community foundations, and capacity-builders combine strengths to amplify the good work of our local organizations. Last week, we were honored to partner with the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation to present on "Innovative Approaches to Investing in Nonprofits". In a conversation moderated by our CEO Erica Halpern, our esteemed panelists —Walter Green, Alan Sorkin, and John Van Cleef — brought to life Amplified's model of providing transformational business support to nonprofits that enrich our San Diego region.

Since 2023, we’ve been grateful for the opportunity to work alongside MANA de San Diego during key moments in their growth. Throughout a series of pro bono consulting engagements focused on strategic planning, board governance, and finance, their leadership, clarity of purpose, and commitment to community have stood out. It’s been a reminder of what’s possible when mission-driven organizations have the support they need to keep moving forward. It was our pleasure and privilege, then, to join in celebrating MANA at its 5th annual Legacy Luncheon in Jamul last week! Our own Amplified Partner and Board Member Lisa Davidson was an honoree this year, receiving the 2026 Chair's Award for her contributions on MANA's Board of Directors. In a testament to the enduring ties that often develop with the nonprofits we serve, Lisa joined MANA's board after leading two of Amplified's pro bono consulting engagements with MANA. Curious about using your business skills for good, like Lisa — and in the process learning more about the organizations doing great work in our community?
