"Where is my order" tickets are a signal, and usually not a good one. Thanks to Retail Brew for talking with me about why they matter, and for sharing how our customer Dr. Squatch reduced theirs with AfterShip. By consolidating tracking across carriers, keep delivery estimates current, and sending proactive updates at key stages of an order's journey, their team saw not only fewer WISMO tickets but also their highest net promoter score on record, especially among new customers. We've been helping brands get ahead of issues like this for years, resulting in WISMO reductions as large as 65%. Now we're making that even easier with AfterShip Agent by predicting which orders are likely to run into trouble and drafting customer updates for teams to approve. Because a better post-purchase experience builds trust, and trust is what keeps customers coming back. (You can read the full feature in today's Retail Brew newsletter on their site.)

If your creator samples aren't out by late October, your Black Friday is already capped. Here's why. On TikTok Shop, creators sell through videos and livestreams for a commission. They need time to try your product, create content, and find what resonates. The opportunity is real. TikTok reported over $500 million in US sales during the four-day BFCM weekend in 2025, and nearly 10 million shoppable videos across the full campaign. This year’s US campaign runs November 11–30. Three things I’d tell any seller this week: 1. Get samples moving now. Prioritize creators who fit your products. Leave room for shipping, content creation, and testing. Treat late October as a content-readiness checkpoint. 2. Check the 2026 requirements. TikTok’s BFCM guide lists SPS of 3.5+ and a late dispatch rate of 20% or below, with separate provisions for shops without an SPS. Confirm your full eligibility in Seller Center. 3. Set commissions creators notice. Benchmark against similar products, then check your margin after discounts, fees, and fulfillment. There’s no universal rate that works for every product. If you’re just getting started, start small, but start now. My team at AfterShip put together a playbook with a month-by-month timeline. *shrieks in Mariah Carey whistle register* IT'S TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME! 🎄 Put down the pumpkin spice latte, friends. Got interviewed by New York Post on how to get ahead on your holiday shopping. (Do as I say, not as I do. I am the world's worst procrastinator.) It was very fun to dig into AfterShip's enormous data set on tracked orders and returns from peak seasons past (2.3 billion tracked shipments every year!) and make some predictions on the product categories that're most likely to win this year, from luggage and travel accessories to personalized and hand-crafted gifts that say "I made my Muse / Instinct agent work overtime to source this for you." Thank for including me Victoria McDonnell! And glad to be in such good company Ally Anderson Taylor Cunningham Ali Furman Lauren Kleinman Chris Beer.

Digital Commerce 360 just broke down how Dr. Squatch is leveraging AfterShip Intelligence to deliver great customers experiences at scale. They’ve been a customer of ours since 2024, but their results since turning on some of our AI-powered capabilities speak for themselves: 31.89% click-through rate on branded tracking page product recommendations, 94% delivery-date accuracy, and a 25% drop in "where is my order?" tickets using our new agent. Their team said it best: "AfterShip Intelligence gives our team the context and automation to resolve delivery issues more efficiently, while keeping our focus on delivering a great customer experience." The story also covers how we helped them maintain a nearly 100% completion rate during the Cyber 5 in 2025 (even when their shipment volume increased 62.69% month over month), and what lessons they’re taking into this year’s BFCM prep. Congrats to everyone at Dr. Squatch. Proud to work alongside a team that takes post-purchase this seriously.

Grateful for the coverage from TechDay US on the AfterShip Intelligence launch. I'm proud of what our team has built, but even prouder of what it’s already doing for our customers. Dr. Squatch cut exception resolution time 58% and WISMO tickets 25%. Naked Wardrobe made return reviews 40% faster and now auto-clears 15-20% of RMAs. Post-purchase has been treated as a cost center for years, but it’s one of the most valuable moments in the customer journey. I love this quote from our partner Naked Wardrobe that nails what we’re trying to do: “As AI becomes a bigger part of retail operations, this is the kind of practical automation that can make a meaningful difference for both teams and customers.” This is only the beginning. More agent skills launch very soon.

Something our CEO Teddy Chan said recently has stuck with me: We don't need to win every layer of the merchant stack. We need to be the layer other people build on. Partnerships in the agentic era will look less like co-marketing and more like co-building. Where a support platform needs shipment context, we'd rather power it than compete with it. That's the part of our AI launch this week I care most about. Alongside AfterShip Agent, we opened our post-purchase data and actions through two MCP servers, one-click connectors, and agent-first APIs. If you run a helpdesk, 3PL, agency, or any platform merchants already trust, you can now pull answers straight from AfterShip: where the order is, whether the return checks out, when the package will actually arrive. And the first builders are already here. Shopify Sidekick and our Claude connector are live, and OpenAI uses our MCP and APIs to help shoppers track their packages directly in ChatGPT. None of these started as marketing deals. They exist because the data solves a real problem inside someone else's product.

“My whole job has become finding out what went wrong yesterday.” I hear that from enterprise ops teams all the time. The exceptions never stop, each one needs context from a different system, and the people who should be improving things spend the day in triage. Everyone wants to get proactive. Nobody can escape the firefight long enough to start. Which is why this launch is so important for enterprise operators. AfterShip Agent takes the triage. It groups related exceptions into one task, pulls the history, drafts the fix, and waits for approval. Your team keeps the judgment. The busywork disappears. Peak season gets easier, too. When Q4 volume spikes, the agent scales with it, instead of you scaling headcount and overtime. Stuck finding out what went wrong yesterday? Let's talk.

Some beta numbers worth sharing 📊 In June, we A/B tested AI Exchange Recommendations across 40+ stores. Standard return flow versus a flow where AI suggests an exchange (right size, right variant, based on real purchase signals) before the refund happens. Exchanges went up 30% at the item level. Retained revenue up 25%. One fashion brand doubled their exchanges. A jewelry brand held onto 48% more revenue. Merchants already know an exchange beats a refund. Most exchange flows run on pairings someone configures by hand: return this, suggest that. Same swap for every shopper, stale as soon as the catalog changes. Ours works from real purchase signals and picks the size or variant that shopper is likely to keep, right when they're deciding. It’s just one way we're building for the agentic era. The same data foundation, what we call AfterShip Intelligence, powers our new AfterShip Agent, which handles shipment exceptions end to end and scores returns for fraud risk, with a human approving every call.
