At the end of 2025, 6G-REFERENCE was selected among the Top-10 Key Achievements of #SNSJU 🏆 📡 The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) recognised our pioneering work on Time-Modulated Array (TMA) technology, led by Hua Wang, Full Professor of Electronics and Principal Investigator at ETH Zürich, and Basem Abdelaziz Abdelmagid, Doctoral Student in the same organisation. Selected from 188 submissions across 63 projects, this distinction highlights the impact of our TMA research, advancing energy-efficient, scalable hardware for next-generation #6G systems. This breakthrough enables simultaneous yet interference-free communication and sensing with multiple users; significant reduction in chip area, hardware complexity, and power consumption. €116M in funding for European #6G Research and Innovation! 💶 The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) recently announced the 20 new #SNSJU selected projects to be funded by €116 million in EU investment for Europe's digital leadership. This latest contribution, announced during #MWC26, is part of €630 million allocated since 2021, expanding its portfolio, including #6GREFERENCE, to 100 initiatives. From Barcelona to London to speak about wireless sensors and #6G connectivity! 🌐 Ignacio Llamas and ZABDIEL BRITO BRITO, researchers at Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), the coordinator of #6GREFERENCE, recently presented our work at the Henry Royce Institute at Imperial College London. 📡 The seminar, hosted by Dr. Peter Petrov, Principal Research Scientist, introduced the 6G-REFERENCE vision and highlighted key advances in joint communications and sensing hardware, including integrated circuit design and antenna technologies. The session formed part of an ongoing measurement campaign at Imperial College’s White City Campus, focused on characterising innovative wireless sensor designs developed within the project. 👥 With 17 attendees, the talk provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration with leading researchers in future communication systems. 📡 6G-REFERENCE highlights at #MWC Barcelona 2026! At the beginning of March, #6GREFERENCE took part in the world’s leading connectivity event, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. At our booth in the Catalonia Pavilion, our coordinator Ignacio Llamas, Senior Researcher at Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), led our demonstrations. He showcased our advanced antenna technologies to #MWC26 visitors, and representatives from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) and the European Commission.
