The first point is, clarity about the objective. Tasks are steps to the objective. They are not the end by themselves. The second point would be to identify tasks that need to be completed to reach the objective. A PERT diagram is arrived at to be absolutely clear about importance and urgency/ priority of each task. CPM could also be used for smaller projects. Identify roles and responsibilities for the tasks. Delegate and Monitor progress as per timelines.
