To balance cost and quality in a supplier dilemma: 1. Define Quality Standards: Set clear quality benchmarks to filter suppliers. 2. Benchmark Costs: Research market rates for competitive pricing without quality loss. 3. Assess Reliability: Choose suppliers with consistent, timely delivery records. 4. Negotiate Partnerships: Seek discounts for bulk orders or long-term deals. 5. Risk Analysis: Weigh cost savings against risks to timelines, quality, and satisfaction. 6. Test and Monitor: Start with small orders to evaluate and maintain quality. This structured approach enables informed decisions that align financial goals with quality requirements.

Some of the ways to get going are as follows, but not limited to: 1. Re-evaluate Voice of Customer and check if the quality of supplied materials is exceeding client expectation. This will help strategically balance cost. 2. Create a short term plan (Corrective action) to handle current dilemma and a long term plan based on learning of this instance to rectify future situations(Preventive action). This will aid in managing vendor/supplier relationship.
