In a past job, I had to work on a lot of repetitive CAD tasks, like making small changes to designs again and again. It got boring fast, so I found ways to stay motivated. I started focusing on small wins—completing one section or solving a tricky part felt like progress. I also tried to switch between tasks when possible to keep things from getting too dull. Plus, I set goals, like learning new tools or shortcuts to work faster. It helped me stay engaged and feel like I was improving, even during the routine work.

In a previous role, I spent a lot of time working on CAD tasks that could feel really repetitive, like tweaking the same designs over and over. At some point, I realized I needed to find ways to keep it interesting, or I’d burn out. So, I started breaking things down into smaller steps—each little win kept me going. I’d also mix it up by shifting to different types of tasks whenever I could, just to keep things fresh. And to make it feel more purposeful, I set some goals for myself, like learning new shortcuts or tools to get faster at what I was doing. It really helped me stay motivated and feel like I was still growing, even on the most routine days.

Es muy importante alternar intervalos de construcción 3D/2D, donde las actividades tienen un carácter más mecánico, con intervalos de diseño, donde es necesario dar rienda suelta a la imaginación y disponer de tiempo para pensar. De este modo, al mantener ocupada la mente con actividades de distinta naturaleza, descansamos, y hace el proceso de diseño y construcción CAD mucho más llevadero. Por último, tener siempre en mente que lo que hacemos no se va a quedar dentro de la pantalla, si no que se materializará en una pieza, o conjunto físico, a mí esto último personalmente me sirve como una fuente de motivación.

(edited)Cette problématique me rappelle à l'esprit cette histoire: Lors d’un projet surnommé ironiquement "le Burj", j’ai proposé quatre variantes pour un même programme, rendant le processus de conception très fastidieux. Grâce à l’automatisation des tâches et à la synchronisation des outils, j’ai simplifié la mise en page des plans et allégé le travail. Pour éviter d’être submergé par des tâches répétitives, je recommande : 1.Commencer par des croquis ou esquisses à la main, pour une exploration rapide des idées. 2. Configurer les logiciels avec des paramètres automatisés et gérer les calques efficacement, pour optimiser les processus. 3. Analyser les attentes du client en amont, afin de réduire les ajustements nécessaires.

In my previous role as an Electrical Design Engineer, I stayed motivated during repetitive tasks by focusing on efficiency and automation. I identified common steps in the workflow and utilized AutoCAD Electrical features such as blocks, dynamic blocks, small scripts, and custom LISP programs to streamline processes and eliminate redundancy. This not only kept my work engaging but also contributed to increased productivity and consistency in deliverables.
