How do you ensure your non-tech team embraces Agile methodologies?

Let me add a real story of how Agile works. Do you recollect Ind vs. Aus 2003 World Cup Final. Aussies batted first and amassed 359 runs in 50 overs, a rare event in pre T20 era. Indian shoulders drooped as they head into the break. Out come the Master Sachin to give his famous pep talk. He encouraged the batters to divide the target into smaller chunks (ie, sprint in agile world). Let's try to hit 1 boundary per over (sprint target). If we manage to hit 1 boundary for 40 overs, our target is brought down by 160 runs, ie 200 runs. If 40 boundary balls are removed, we have 260 balls to score remaining 200 runs. Everybody in the team now started believing that they could chase it down. This real story covers most of the 12 agile principles.

Rather than giving my non tech team members classes on Agile methodologies, it's better to start with small activities and then scale gradually 1. Start with daily standup to encourage transperancy. 2. Introduce them to Kanban board for tracking their tasks. 3. Conduct retrospectives to encourage them on continuous improvement. 4. Gradually introduce them to sprints and backlog refinement once they are comfortable with the agile basics. By making Agile practical, engaging and easy to follow, our non tech team will gradually build the confidence and slowly they will start to integrate it into their daily work flows.

It's the duty of scrum master to coach the team with Agile, explain the benefits and advantages of agile in very simple terms to the team.Give them the real world example such as producing a big film and release on fine day to the audience after years and years of efforts sounds not soo good instead release it as webseries so that audience can enjoy your film and remember you always and keeps much expectations on you.This way you can showcase your efforts and give more value to customers end of the day.Just explain and make the understand the real power of agile.
