Coaching is not about limiting big dreams but helping clients cultivate and nurture them into something impactful and lasting. Here are some constructive steps to guide the process: 1. Recognize and celebrate your client's vision, validating their dreams as valuable. 2. Help them translate ambitious goals into manageable milestones that pave the way to success. 3. Share relevant examples to inspire and illustrate the path forward. 4. Regularly revisit and assess their goals to ensure they align with their evolving journey, making adjustments as necessary to stay on track.

Ah, the classic dreamer’s dilemma—when a client’s vision is so big, it feels like they’re aiming for the stars. First, I lean in with curiosity, acknowledging the excitement and ambition behind their goals. Then, we take a step back and break things down. It’s about guiding them to see the bigger picture while focusing on practical steps and timelines. I help them balance their passion with achievable milestones, celebrating every win along the way. After all, ambition without action can be overwhelming. It’s all about turning dreams into doable steps—because "big dreams are built on small, consistent actions!"

I believe it’s key to ask powerful questions during the goal exploration phase from the start, as they help the coachee reflect deeply and organically refine their aspirations into a more achievable goal. Additionally, since the coaching process has a limited number of sessions, it’s always useful to set goals based on the SMART criteria—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Keeping this framework throughout the process helps the coachee’s goals become clear, realistic, and structured, facilitating meaningful progress within the available timeframe. It also enhances the overall impact of coaching, ensuring that the client sees tangible results.

When you're working with a client who has big dreams but unrealistic expectations, it’s important to have a clear conversation about reality versus possibility. It’s like coaching a team in Tanzania’s competitive football scene—every player has potential, but not every dream can come to fruition without the right foundation. You don’t just push harder; you guide them, set achievable milestones, and help them understand the process. Dreams are great, but the work is what turns them into something real.
