How can you use social learning models to improve online education?

In my spiritual classes I use photo's to motivate interest. Most people are motivated by their visual senses when they see a photo they can relate too. I pick photo's that model my words so my class can get a complete understanding of themselves. Questions are a great way to motivate a class and I use questions that speak to their soul that most teachers don't use. Most people are not taught about spirits and how they work so my teaching is different than most.

I like that you added that the students should set goals for themselves. I met with my students one-on-one for goal-setting once a week this past school year. It was so powerful and helpful to the students and fostered a growth mentality. The students improved in their work for my class and others.

When I was young ,I roamed Nature and found that Nature is my best teacher. As a teacher the role is simply to kindle the curiosity in the young mind. Let him/her to explore the sea of knowledge by sailing . As a teacher , the job is just to apply some individual corrective measure in this sailing process.

Using social learning models, particularly Bandura's social learning theory, can significantly enhance the online education experience. Recently our university is launching the big UPLIFT program for Canvas course shelves where we add to the pages a lot of activities for self-studies of students and it has been a great amount of added value. Besides having just the videos and other reading materials as usual, we have the multiple choice questions associated with the video and the reading for checking key knowledge points, drag-and-drop activities for applications of concepts, etc. All these H5P tools are really helpful for us in creating a social learning environment where students learn from behaviors of their peers and get feedback from their instructors.

A good teacher will always try to understand where their classmates come from and their classmates thoughts about the subject they are being taught. A teacher who does not engage with their class is a sign they are not a good teacher and have not been given the gifts to teach.

I am firm believer in interactive learning ! Having said that, I make sure the interaction are somewhat structured to the topics, ideas or concepts at hand. This is because unless I set up structured discussions and monitor them just enough so I make sure it is about the topic designed. Unstructured interactions or discussions with peers can lead students off topic and I have received complaints that it demotivates them further from the topic

If we are a virtual teacher then those in our class will be virtual commincators or desire to be one. They would not be there or know about us or our classes if they did not engage with social media.

This is the ripple effect all teachers desire from their learners, and a teacher never stops learning from those they are teaching. A good teacher desires for all their learners to be their own teachers teaching othwers what they have learned from the classes they have taken. One drop of learning from my classes can be eternal wisdom for each learner to share with somone else.

When online lesson is inevitable, then we may try and see if learners can join as a small groups of two or three in the comfort of their homes. One student can invite a couple of friends home and next time they will take rotations etc. This may not work with the entire group but as far as possible, this can be done. We know that learners like to be surrounded by their peers while learning. Their social and emotional levels are at maximum when they learn together as a group. This way, they are still at home but surrounded by a handful of their best friends. If we start doing this, slowly the remaining group also try to follow this pattern and this way no student is left behind alone. This also helps in making new friends and improves unity

Social learning models enhance online education through discussion forums, collaborative projects, peer review, group activities, live sessions, gamification, crowdsourced content, social learning platforms, microlearning communities, and social media integration. These strategies promote interaction, collaboration, and shared knowledge among students.
