Plan a week ahead. Leave time for yourself in the beginning and end of each day for yourself. Space in the early morning allows for the subconscious to bring forth answers to challenging questions you may have difficulty answering.

My work is multi-discipline and multi-objective at all times, so I've learned fluency in balancing these competing objectives. A key element of both (and a tool for managing them) is ensuring your clients have time for practice, evaluation, and feedback. Alternate between both by setting and providing defined deliverables. Specify timeframes for feedback, and the nature of that feedback. For voice students, define a few tangible improvements they can make in the material or exercises, and what to look for (and document) in their practice. For production, indicate the next steps you will take from their feedback, and when you will commence those steps, provided feedback is submitted.
