In my view, emphasis on RACI with defined roles and responsibilities to make sure each and every team lead knows their specific activity in project, is prime. If everybody knows their boundaries and work with in it, without entering into others work area, automatically improves collaboration.

Dealing with conflicts between team leaders in a robotics project can be challenging, but a few key strategies help keep things on track. Open communication is crucial—regular check-ins allow teams to address issues early and prevent misunderstandings. Clearly defining roles reduces confusion and helps leaders focus on their responsibilities. Encouraging collaboration over competition fosters a shared vision. Disagreements will happen, so having a structured way to resolve them, like mediation or active listening, keeps things productive. In the end, good communication, clear expectations, and teamwork make the project run much smoother.

To resolve the conflict professionally, approach your team leader with a collaborative mindset. Acknowledge their concerns, present data-driven benefits of automation, and suggest a trial phase if needed. Use a respectful tone and focus on finding a middle ground. Follow up with a summary to ensure clarity.

To ensure smooth coordination between team leaders in a robotics project, start by clearly defining roles and responsibilities to avoid overlaps. Promote open communication through regular meetings, fostering active listening and mutual respect. Use project management tools like Trello or Jira to centralize collaboration and track progress. Appoint a neutral project manager to mediate conflicts and align efforts with the project’s goals. Emphasize the shared vision and encourage leaders to focus on common objectives. Establish a conflict resolution protocol to address issues constructively and prevent escalation. Lastly, celebrate collaborative successes to build morale and reinforce teamwork.

Robotics is an interdisciplinary field and one should understand there are multiple perspectives to solving a problem. That said, if there is a conflict of ideas, it's best to sit down as a team and list the pros and cons to ascertain the best approach or find a middle ground. If the issue persists, a neutral project manager must resolve it so the project can get back on track.
