When you get different opinions about your public speaking, start by listening carefully to what everyone says. Look for common themes in the feedback -things that more than one person may have mentioned. These might be areas to work on. If some feedback feels confusing or not helpful, think about who gave it and why they might feel that way. Its important to be honest with yourself in such situations and ask yourself if the feedback resonates or does not. Focus on feedback that helps you improve, not just on what’s negative. If the feedback makes sense be open and ask for specifics to go deeper. Remember, you can’t please everyone. Take feedback that connects and start small and work on implementing changes one step at a time.

When faced with conflicting feedback, take a step back and analyze the key points from each perspective. Identify common threads and areas for improvement. Seek clarification on specific feedback and focus on actionable steps. Use constructive criticism to refine your style while maintaining confidence in your unique approach. Balance adaptability with authenticity.

It would be easy to follow the usual pattern of sulking and repeatedly considering others' opinions, but it often led to my mind getting stuck. It helped me to listen to feedback but filter what is helpful and what is not, to forgive myself and others internally, knowing that nobody is perfect, we are all evolving. I also remember my mentors' advice that progress takes time and mistakes. Understanding the role of time in progress can make one feel patient and more accepting, allowing one to continue working to help others who are ready and willing to learn.
