I find that whenever we encounter such situations, active listening is a very good starting point to show that you are actually taking their perspectives into account. In my experience, every customer's case may be slightly different and my recommendation would be to avoid using cookie-cutter responses because honestly? That'll aggravate them even more. Instead, work on sounding like a human being and maintaining a calm, collected tone with respect regardless of their attitude, to give them the confidence that you are working on their issues.
