You need proper team goals plus defined methods to talk with and monitor how your remote employees perform. Define what the team needs to achieve and make sure everyone can see the progress in common dashboards. Have regular meetings to find out about problems right away and maintain good team participation. Establish trust through written processes and show performance results to track progress. We solved deadline problems by adding weekly progress discussions which made work faster for my previous team. A proper mix of team independence and management controls allows remote teams to achieve their work without heavy supervision. Trust and clarity drive success.
