For me, I would usually add to my checklist with a deadline then put it on a calendar to block a specific time to work on it. Most of the time it is the discipline it matters because each individual has the same amount of hours daily

Backlogging Start by organizing your tasks and revisiting them regularly to ensure they are prioritized and nothing is left behind. A well-made and organized task list not only keeps you on track with daily responsibilities but also helps maintain focus on long-term goals without feeling overwhelmed.

What has been helpful to me is to periodically review these long term goals and create a timeline for the fiscal year. Then with the goals as key milestones, break them out into smaller tasks/projects to aid in achieving each of these milestones. Also, another suggestions is to delegate some of your other activities to other colleagues that have strong capabilities to complete them during crunch time of your projects.

Schedule and importance should be your drivers. First, if it's scheduled way out, put it on the back burner, but keep it on your radar. Second, is it nice to have, or got to have? If its nice to have, it's busy work. Always work on the "must have" tasks.
