We’ve all seen it—a client struggling to hit their goals and feeling like they’re stuck in a loop. It’s not about pointing out the setbacks; it’s about showing them the wins, no matter how small. Start by celebrating progress, even if it's just getting one step closer. Break down the larger goals into smaller, manageable actions, and help them see that every little victory counts. Remind them of their strengths, and encourage them to focus on learning from each challenge rather than seeing it as failure. Rebuilding confidence is all about shifting perspective. As a life coach you meet many different types of people. When you start working with your client sometimes it happens that client fails to achieve the goals. Couple of things to keep in mind: ➡️ Investigate carefully with your client what is the exact cause of the failure. ➡️ Is it because of the unrealistic goals or client's own lazy attitude and procrastination? ➡️ If the goal is authentic then is it the right time to pursue the goal or it must be shift into later tasks. ➡️ Rethinking on the primary objective of the life coaching process. Once you follow such steps you and your client will get clarity about the actual situation.

They need to strengthen their belief in themselves. When we fall behind in terms of results and goals--it impacts the self confidence and the ability to stay motivated and focused. There needs to be mindset work to realign with their goals and discipline to stay focused, resilient and believing that the results are coming soon.

Maybe you don't need to rebuild their confidence. Maybe you just need to rebuild their goals. People tend to be rather bad at setting goals because they look at someone else's success reel and don't see everything that went into it. We also tend to chunk information. So things we have done a million times we simplify down to a few basic elements when there are actually many steps. We forget that when we plan new things and we frequently leave out stuff. So it ends up taking longer and we get frustrated because the process is different than we thought. Time to start over with new goals and break them down into the smallest pieces. You will make more progress.
