Sometimes having a clear cut responsibilities and motivating and making team or individuals responsible works and a small follow up if team size is small. If teams are bigger you may need to use some fancy tools to show up the team individual responsibility and the amount of progress to motivate. Yes having a tracking of what an individual or team is delivering and using that as a communication tool really brings focus. But all these communication happens if one has done good amount of analysis if the tasks along with rough split ups.

Few things I found really helpful were: 1. Daily Sync up call (max 15 mins) 2. Ask for help: In my previous organisation, We created a help group of all team members, if one of the person got stuck with dead end. He/ she can post in group for help. 3. Clarity of Goal: Very important to discuss the final outcome clearly, else the project would keep on extending without clear goals. 4. Conflicts will arise: It's important to understand conflict arise because people are thinking. So it's important to clear out any conflict before proceeding for targets.
