Sometimes, we forget that clients, recruiters, and all the players involved are people just like us. When I clearly communicate my expectations—perhaps by relating them to real-life scenarios—and explain why a particular boundary matters to me, my client is more likely to understand my perspective and respect those boundaries. By fostering a more human connection and sharing the "why" behind our actions, we build mutual respect and stronger relationships.

I normally set boundaries during onboarding. I send a follow up email summarizing everything we've discussed. If they overstep, I quickly and politely reiterate the boundaries, and I keep all documentation in case needed for reference. I find it's rarely needed if the communication is clear from the start.

In my perception, we definitely can maintain and setup few professional boundary lines, like - Legal, Ethical, and Organizational frameworks, i can believe those can protect client and employee relationships from any kind of physical damages, for that we must clear about the communication first.

Assim, conciliamos resultados e integridade no processo.

Effectively setting boundaries with a client who oversteps professional limits involves clearly communicating your availability and expectations while maintaining a friendly tone, such as saying, “I appreciate your enthusiasm, but let’s keep our discussions to business hours to ensure I can provide my best work!” Additionally, keep a record of your communications in case you need to refer back to them later or if the situation escalates. By approaching the situation with clarity and professionalism, you can set effective boundaries while maintaining a positive working relationship with your client.
