Merging old systems with new cloud technology requires careful planning to ensure a smooth transition. - Identify what data, applications, and workflows exist in the old system.Document dependencies, security risks, and performance issues. - Move applications as-is to the cloud (quick but not optimized).Make small modifications to improve performance in the cloud. - Use ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools to migrate data without loss.Encrypt sensitive data before moving it to the cloud. - Perform parallel testing where both systems run together to verify results.Conduct load testing to ensure cloud scalability meets business needs. - Use cloud monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch) to track performance.

ETL to migrate data, try to keep the shape of the data as is, cause the end goal should be to transform, not to update, unless the old system is failing. Redirect api logic to the new data. This would be a start..

Integrating legacy systems with modern cloud solutions requires a thoughtful approach: 𝟭. 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 – Evaluate the existing infrastructure and identify integration points. 𝟮. 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗣𝗜𝘀 – Leverage APIs to enable communication between old and new systems. 𝟯. 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁 𝗵𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – Implement a hybrid model to run both legacy systems and cloud services concurrently. 𝟰. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – Plan a phased data migration to minimize disruption. 𝟱. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 – Ensure staff are equipped to manage and maintain the integrated systems. 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝘁𝗶𝗽: Start small with pilot projects before full-scale integration.

    * Audit & Assess – Identify dependencies, risks, and integration challenges in legacy systems. * Hybrid Integration – Use APIs, service meshes, or containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) to bridge old and new tech. * Phased Migration – Implement an incremental approach (lift-and-shift, replatform, or refactor) to minimize downtime. * Automation & IaC – Leverage CI/CD, Terraform, and Ansible for seamless deployment and management. * Security & Compliance First – Ensure encryption, IAM, and regulatory compliance throughout the transition. * Upskill Teams – Conduct hands-on training and workshops to equip teams with cloud-native skills.
