First I recognize that I cannot really "motivate" another person from the outside. With MI, I seek to listen, connect, and draw out the person's own motivation to change and reflect their own words about their best desires, abilities, reasons, and needs for change back to them.

'Just to make sure I get it, you're feeling overwhelmed by the project and unsure about where to start?' By acknowledging their emotions and concerns, I'd create a safe space for them to open up and explore their goals.

Show the Impact → Use data or case studies to demonstrate how clear goals drive better results. Break It Down → Propose small, achievable milestones to create momentum. Align with Their Vision → Reframe goals in a way that resonates with their broader business objectives. Encourage Ownership → Involve them in decision-making to increase commitment and clarity.
