We don't need to get everything done right now, just this next step. - We give people room to focus. Trying to see everything is taking time away from getting the next element done. - We get the pressure at the right level. Too much pressure, people panic and make mistakes, too little, and we slow down and coast. Breaking things down let's you focus the pressure on just this task and set a realistic timeline to get it done right (and quickly, since you still have leadership to answer to on the bigger picture).
