To address contradictory comments, first acknowledge all opinions politely. Identify shared goals and match feedback with project objectives. Facilitate a collaborative debate to better grasp the reasoning behind each opinion. Use data and facts to make judgements and reach compromises. Prioritise comments according to its effect and practicality. Clearly express the selected course and the reasons for it. Maintain transparency and open communication channels. Regularly evaluate progress to ensure alignment and handle any developing issues. This technique promotes consensus and project success.

In my experience I have had to dealt with conflicting feedback in regard to system requirements. By writing these requirements down and understanding system or process restrictions, I was able to get to the root cause for the concerns and come up with a compromise until new capabilities were able to be added as an enhancement.

We have all gotten stuck in situations where we make assumptions especially as we are working at home and in different locations. By meeting in person, or through a video call, you can enhance the conversations and really perform active listening. Talking for 30 minutes can really reduce the emotions and back and forth through email or text when there may be a misunderstanding of tone or capaiblities.
