For privacy reasons, the user is asked for permission to report location information. The Geolocation API is accessed via a call to navigator.geolocation, which will cause the user's browser to ask them for permission to access their location data. If they accept, then the browser will use the best available functionality on the device to access this information (GPS).

With this setup, users will be asked for geolocation permission when they visit your webpage.

3 Performance Optimization

To do this, you should use the options object to specify the desired accuracy, timeout, and maximum age of the position. For example, if you need a high accuracy position, enable the enableHighAccuracy option to true, but be aware that this may consume more power and take longer to obtain. If you need a quick and approximate position, set a low timeout and a high maximum age. Additionally, use the watchPosition() method to track the position changes only when necessary. When you no longer need it, clear the watch using the clearWatch() method. If you only need to get the position once or occasionally, use the getCurrentPosition() method instead. Lastly, handle errors gracefully by providing fallbacks or alternatives such as showing a message to inform the user or asking for a manual input of the location or using other sources of location data like IP address or cookies.
