Cadillac ups the price for 2026 Lyriq but makes Super Cruise standard

Cadillac decided it was about the time to up the game with its stylish Lyriq SUV for the 2026 model year. The automaker is making its Super Cruise hands-free driving technology a standard feature across all trims, together with a series of pricing adjustments. The entry point for the Lyriq will see a slight increase, but the inclusion of what was once a pricey option adds extra value to the brand's popular electric vehicle.

For 2026, Cadillac is simplifying its trim structure with new naming conventions. The previous "1, 2, 3" designations are gone, replaced with a more descriptive hierarchy: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Signature Luxury, along with Sport, Premium Sport, and Signature Sport counterparts. The base 2026 Lyriq, now simply called the "Luxury" trim, will start at $59,200, a modest $605 increase from the 2025 model. The entry-level "Sport" trim sees an identical $605 bump, bringing its starting price to $59,700.

While the base models get a slight price hike, some mid-tier trims will actually cost less. The new Premium Luxury and Premium Sport models, which replace last year's "Luxury 2" and "Sport 2," see their prices dip to $63,200 and $63,700, respectively. At the top of the range, the Signature Luxury and Signature Sport models receive an $805 increase, now starting at $67,800 and $68,300.

The biggest change for prospective buyers is that the Super Cruise is no longer a paid option. Previously, customers had to step up to higher trims to get this advanced driver-assistance system, which allows for hands-free operation on hundreds of thousands of miles of compatible highways in the US and Canada. Alongside Super Cruise, all models will now also come standard with Hitch Guidance and Hitch View, features aimed at making towing a simpler task.

The Cadillac Lyriq stands as a visually distinct option among electric cars. It measures 196.7 inches in length, 77.8 inches in width, and 63.9 inches in height, with a generous wheelbase of 121.8 inches. Inside, the cabin is dominated by a sweeping 33-inch advanced LED display that serves as both the instrument cluster and infotainment hub.

In the busy market of premium EVs, the 2026 Lyriq's revised starting price is higher than its smaller sibling, the 2026 Cadillac Optiq, which begins at $54,390. But when measured against its direct rivals, the Lyriq's value proposition becomes apparent - it undercuts prominent competitors like the Porsche Macan Electric, which starts at approximately $75,300, and the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, with its $77,900 entry price.
