This is a 5-month review of the OnePlus 13, I picked it up on a launch deal that included the upgraded storage & Watch 2R for free. I've used the phone every day since, and here's my review.
I've owned many OnePlus phones in the past (Came from a 9 Pro), and I liked what they provided for the price point. Over the last few years, I felt OnePlus were losing its roots. However, this year, with the OnePlus 13, a bit of that spark has returned. The OP13 is the typical OnePlus recipe. It’s got the latest Snapdragon process that is fast, a clean user interface that is ridiculously quick & one of the best battery experiences you can get on a phone. However, where OnePlus cut corners before to keep the price down, OnePlus hasn’t cut any corners here. This phone feels like a true flagship in every aspect. While the 13 is a lot more expensive than older OnePlus's previous devices for what it offers, I think it is great value especially when compared to other competition products, the main being the S25 Ultra, the OP13 comes out to around £500 cheaper, which is crazy to think, as overall I feel the OnePlus is the better phone.
Let’s start with the new quirks, sadly, there is no charging brick included in the box. I think this is an EU problem rather than a OnePlus one, so I cannot bash them for it. If you’d like to purchase the required charging brick, it’ll set you back £60. I just used my old Warp Charge 65 from my OnePlus 9 Pro. I did test the charging speeds with this charger on the 13. It took 35 mins to charge from 0-100%. So still very fast.
Oxygen OS isn’t as good as it was in its glory days. It has a few more bugs than before, and it is a little more bloated. But the identity of OOS is still present. The UI is intuitive, super smooth & has some nice features. OnePlus are committed to 4 years of updates only on this device, which is the only real con I have for it, along with the software. Samsung is industry-leading with this, so it would be nice to see OnePlus increase this in the future.
The design of the OnePlus 13 is classy but doesn’t wow you. I guess most phones don’t nowadays. The OP13 has IP69, so it is durable against water & dust. I haven’t tested this, but it’s nice for peace of mind. It’s crazy to think OnePlus went from having no waterproofing to being at the bleeding edge in this field.
I’ve listed below a few key areas & my thoughts on the phone's main areas below;
- S tier display: Insanely bright, very responsive & smooth. Has some cool, unique features like Aqua Touch, too. The display is almost flat now, too, which helps with durability.
- A+ tier camera: Versatile setup. The resolution and dynamic range are much improved from my OP9 Pro. The biggest improvement is with the Zoom camera; it’s so good, even up to 50x+, you can get clear pictures. Great processing. The letdown for the camera system is the video. It can’t compete with the iPhone.
- A+ tier Loud & clear stereo speakers: The speakers on this phone are a big improvement from my 9 Pro. They have so much more depth, the bass can be heard. It’s quite surprising the loud quality that can come out of a phone.
- A+ tier Haptics: OnePlus have had a top-tier haptic implementation for years now. This phone is no exception. I think Google may have the slight edge, but this is still excellent.
- S-tier battery: Massive battery in combination with rapid wireless/wired charging speeds gives the phone an incredible battery experience. I can get 10hrs screen on time (running at 1440p 120Hz). To charge back up, it barely takes 30 mins. After you experience fast charging, it’s so hard to go to something that lacks it (My main gripe with iPhone & Samsung phones)
- S-tier fingerprint sensor: OnePlus moved to an ultrasonic for the 13. The placement is miles better than on my 9 Pro, and the reliability is improved from the older optical ones. It’s a lot easier to use at night, as it doesn’t need a bright light to scan.
In conclusion, I think the OnePlus 13 isn’t just a great OnePlus phone, but it’s a great phone full stop. This phone is a contender for best overall phone this year, regardless of price. If you are on the edge of trying a OnePlus, I think the OnePlus 13 is a great one to try, especially if you can pick it up on a discount, as the value proposition gets even better. If your priorities in a phone are display, performance & battery. This phone provides the best of the best.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 October 2025Colour: Arctic DawnSize Name: 16/512Verified PurchaseHaving never owned a OnePlus phone and with the price being (at time of purchase) £719 for the newest model with 512gb of storage, or seemed like a good time to give it a go. Straight out of the box the phone felt good, with a slightly bigger screen then the Galaxy 24 Ultra yet seemed smaller in the hand due to the more curved design. The build quality is solid and this is also IP69 rated so it's even more resistant water... The phone is a fast as OnePlus claim and was able to handle everything including high end gaming, the screen is a joy and the speakers are decent and loud (there are reports they lack bass but how many phones really have bass?!) The cameras are great, again the general consensus seems to be they are slightly behind other flagships but in all honesty and from someone that has owned many phones over the years they are actually really good, the Hasselblad partnership works really well (and the authentic shutter button noise is present!) The colour science is very pleasant on the eye, it has the ability to capture fast moving objects and the portrait mode is excellent. Video camera also excellent, with very good audio recording. The camera is far better than the Galaxy S24 Ultra and while phones like Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo are taking mobile phone photography to another level, this is sometimes at the detriment of the phone experience - with the OnePlus 13 the balance is great, and hard to justify the additional £300-400 for one of the other flagships - make no mistake this is a flagship phone at midrange price. Note the screen is slightly curved which I'm not a fan of however it's far more subtle than you'd expect and a tough case will still protect the screen (it also has a pre installed screen protector). I highly recommended this phone, it's without doubt the most enjoyable phone I've had in the last 5 years...
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 May 2025Colour: BlackSize Name: 16/512Verified PurchaseAfter owning the OnePlus 8T and 11, I can confidently say the OnePlus 13 is hands-down the best phone I’ve ever had. Each upgrade has brought something new to the table, but the 13 takes it to a whole new level.
Right off the bat, the design feels more refined and premium. It's sleek, solid, and just feels right in the hand. The display is stunning—sharp, vibrant, and incredibly smooth. Whether I’m streaming, gaming, or just scrolling, the experience is top-tier.
Performance-wise, it’s an absolute beast. Apps open instantly, multitasking is seamless, and gaming is buttery smooth. Compared to the 8T and 11, the battery life on the 13 holds up even better and charges ridiculously fast.
The camera is another huge step up. The photos are sharp, colors are accurate, and low-light shots look fantastic. OnePlus really nailed it here, and I can see the progress from my previous phones.
OxygenOS keeps getting better—clean, fast, and customizable. I haven’t faced any hiccups or bloatware headaches. Everything just works.
If you're coming from an older OnePlus device like I did, the 13 is a massive leap forward. It's not just another upgrade—it feels like a polished, complete flagship that delivers on all fronts. Easily the best phone I’ve ever owned.

Ligmuh bawlzReviewed in Australia on 19 March 20255.0 out of 5 stars 100% worth it but ONLY if you're good with rooting/configuring phones (PLEASE READ)
Colour: BlackSize Name: 16/512Verified PurchaseIMPORTANT: I did recieve the chinese version of this rather than the global one however it is flashed with the global rom (oxygen os rather than colour). This means that certain cellular bands are not supported and that you will need to be knowlegeable on how to flash updates yourself as if you use the updating service in the phone to update, your cellular capabilities will stop working (you'll stop receiving cell signal). Make sure your cell provider supports the bands the chinese one has that being 4G: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/26/28A/66 and 5G NR: n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28A/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78. If it doesn't or you aren't willing and able to flash updates yourself I suggest you don't get the phone but if so it is amazing bang for your buck and works flawlessly (or if you're fine with no updates it works like that too). Alternatively you could also look up a tutorial and switch the os back to colour but then obviously it's different from oxygen and is less intuitive. Long story short I'd only buy this phone if you are good with modifying it and/or are willing to learn while setting it up (should take a few hours to learn, 2-12 depending on how tech savvy you are, tutorials are everywhere). If not I suggest you look elsewhere as this is not the global variant.
Sorry if I didn't include this initially, researched it a bit more and the issues above were what everyone else was saying. It's also hard to definitively say that the OTA (over the air) updates will brick the cell signal as oneplus hasn't released any updates yet but based on previous phones it is likely that it will.
Before you ask, yes I am real and not a paid shill. Item arrived a day before it was even estimated to be able to arrive and came with the 100 watt charging brick as well as a wall adaptor. It was in 100% pure unopened condition and not a scratch on the product. I am beyond happy and it was 300 bucks cheaper with 256 gb extra storage compared to the official oneplus aus seller. I 100% recommend buying from them and am over the moon with the service. Here's some pictures and a thumbs up to prove it's real
