this is the answer they gave me from the elementor team:
The widget menu item is disabled by default when using the Hello theme. The idea is that you can now insert your widgets into any location in the editor. If you wanted a website with a sidebar, you could create a single page/post-template and assign the widgets that you want to appear in a column that will appear globally across all your pages that you assign a particular template to.
