Baldur's Gate III

Once you start playing you'll think it's been maybe an hour but you look around and look at the time and realize you've been playing for 6 hours or more. A truely delightful game.

Next level developers that know how to deliver to the consumer thank you!

It has some bugs, but the patches are fixing many issues and adding more content that players are requesting. In short, fantastic game made by devs who actually love video games, and respect their playerbase.

Publishers should take note of what we actually want in games. They can use Baldur's Gate 3 as an example. No microtransactions, full game, immediate dev support and updates....I can't seem to find one bad thing to say about this game or Larian Studios.

The Point and click movement interface is NOT for everybody, but I was so immersed in the game that I forced myself to bear with it. The Steam Controller support for the PS5 controller took some time to learn it, but I use both Keyboard/Mouse and Controller.

This is not an easy game, and I wouldn't let my thirteen-year old son play it for a few more years, but for those of us who can remember the excitement and total immersion of the old Bioware masterpieces like Mass Effect, KOTOR, Dragon Age: Origins, and, of course the original Baldur's Gate games (which I admit I haven't actually played for more than a couple of hours.. I was just a little too young to appreciate those at the time), this game is something special that we haven't seen since, well, the original Mass Effect trilogy, KOTOR, or Dragon Age: Origins. I'm also someone who loves turn-based combat like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy: Tactics, so this game feels even better to play than KOTOR and Mass Effect (it might be too soon to make that claim, but I'm 80 hours in, and I've just finished Act 2, and this game creates the same nail-biting tension that the turn-based combat of Fire Emblem does in a way that the action/turn-based hybrids don't). I haven't even touched multiplayer because I'm waiting for friends and family to experience more of the game so I can talk about it without spoilers, but this game is an experience that I haven't felt in a long time. Even if, somehow, the last act of the game is a complete dumpster fire of a disappointment, I feel as though the first two acts have been so strong and presented so much replayability that I've already gotten my money's worth, and I suspect that the last act of the game will be good. Can I talk about the combat encounters??? There is no grinding here! Every encounter so far has felt like it was designed by a masterful tactician; a dungeon master who understands how to create interesting and meaningful scenarios. I am so emotionally invested in this game right now. I have to just thank Larian Studios for this beautiful work of art. This is the game I've been waiting a decade for; this is the game that should remind us what heights interactive storytelling in gaming can reach.

All around fun to play. I thhink it's designed for Teen and above because the adult themes but through customization it can be somewhat controlled. Challenging and great graphics. The storyline is good and not real hard to follow. If you aren't a D&D player, it's easy to understand mechanics are easier to understand the more you play it. Few very small glitches that are almost unnoticable. Movement is a bit tricky with the mouse at times but easy to overcome. I'm not a keyboard player but I have picked up. Start slow and get acclimated to using the keyboard.

First turn based game I've ever played, I'm inlove with the game!

Still in Act 1. I think the gameplay suffers slightly by being too beholden to D&D rules. I like the dice rolls. I don’t see how the combat system would be worse with an action-point system. That being said; Astoundingly beautiful and detailed world. unreasonable, sky high production values. Wonderful soundtrack. A very interactive world, bordering on immersive sim levels of creativity, but within a Gigantic open world. Dude, it is *well-acted*. Compare to DOS2, one of my all time favorites. Voicework was good but those characters didn’t even have animated lip flaps - this has *performances* where the actors are making *choices*. Unreal.

Be prepared to jump into a beautifully crafted world full of incredibly well written characters, fun combat, and no shortage of things to do!

For current and new DND fans! This is a very welcoming introduction as well as continuation of the Baldur’s Gate franchise. I seriously can NOT wait for full release tomorrow.

It is still in early access, but I think the game has a ton of potential to be amazing once it's finished.

Long wait "EA" right now, kind of expensive, but worth it for the story and theory crafting.
