Since Gists are such an awesome way to share Jupyter notebooks, I updated the GistPad
@code extension to make it easy to export your notebooks as gists, and then manage your collection of Gist-backed notebookspic.twitter.com/X9mTUMjbcONäytä tämä ketjuKiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa -
There’s a lot of good points in this thread, and it reminds me of the notion that stories are better than plans (“stories” as in the clear/coherent/inspiring narrative about a product and its goals)https://twitter.com/johncutlefish/status/1477038150660755458 …

Interestingly enough, I actually interviewed at Microsoft, because I was in Seattle, traveling to see a post-rock concert, and fell in love with the city. Unexpectedly, I got the job, and 14 years later, I have a lot to be grateful for from the impact of music in my life

My love for the OSS community was very much inspired by the effect that indie music scenes had on me throughout my teens and early twenties. There’s nothing quite like having shared passions with other people and finding ways to contribute to each other

After moving to Seattle, I had the privilege to be involved in a 2-day post-rock show in LA, that provided fans a way to meet up in one place, and see 10 indie bands they might not otherwise see. It was an amazing experience, and a formidable example of community

I subscribed to Twitter Blue, mostly because I irrationally _needed_ the ability to customize the app icon on my home screen. That said, tweet delays and reader mode are really nice

The
@Alpine_JS site is an awesome example of docs that are optimized for quick, but meaningful comprehension. It presents a simple conceptual framing, immediately followed by a tangible demystification of what it _actually_ is. As a continuous learner, I deeply appreciate thisKiitos. We use Codespaces to streamline our technical interview process. This blog post explains how.

If you do data science or machine learning using @GitHub: what features are on your wishlist? And what are your biggest frustrations with the platform, today? Anything goes: from viewing RMarkdown or .rst files, to MathJax rendering, to frustration setting up Actions.

Whenever I'm writing, I find it oddly valuable to place artificial constraints on myself (e.g. "I want to make 3-4 points, with each being no more than 2 lines"). Almost like the presentation can be an input to the emergence of a compelling story

There is more work to be done but a lot works now. Drag repository or pull-requests from http://GitHub.com into
@ShellFishApp to create & configure codespaces. They work like other servers in the app negotiating a SSH connection through the GitHub API and Live Share.pic.twitter.com/hzRlYl81DCNäytä tämä ketjuKiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa -

Started using
#GistPad for my knowledge base
Ok only for couple of days for now, but I hope to keep the habit! I like that everything is stored on @github#gist and that I can use http://vscode.dev Thanks@LostInTangent for your fantastic work

Goal: every scientific analysis is fully reproducible + version controlled (both data *and* experiment), without the researcher having to change how they do their work, or having to migrate from a free, open-source toolset. No hand-modifying YAML or Dockerfiles; no CLI fumbling.

The most unbelievable part of Home Alone isn’t that the parents could board a plane without doing a basic child audit. It’s that they could have that many kids in one house, and frantically scramble for the airport, yet somehow leave the house completely spotless on the way out
Kiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa -
When I learn something new, I often perform mock presentations about the topic while pacing around the house. This ensures I understand what I’m learning, and that I’m making the material my own by forming a story I can easily recall. It works great, but my kids think I’m nuts

I think my ideal workflow would be if the GitHub mobile app supported gist editing. That would provide the same low-ceremony editing, with “commit-on-save” behavior, but synced across devices in a cross-platform way. That’s gotta be a thing at some point right?

Over the years, I’ve tried an insane amount of notetaking workflows on my phone, and in the end, the only thing that sticks is the iOS Notes app. I think the hyper-low ceremony of raw text + sync actually _invites_ writing, since I’m not worrying about formatting, grouping, etc.

Finally, this all works from VS Code, Codespaces, and http://vscode.dev/github.dev , so you can bring your gists and notebooks with you everywhere
