HTTP Switchboard as an ad blocker
You can configure HTTP Switchboard in such a way as to make it behaves close to how typical ad blockers work.
Here is how the matrix would look like:

I created a backup file which can be restored (from the About tab) in order to make HTTPSB behave close to how ad blockers work (well better in my opinion given the lists of blocked hosts used in that setup):
From this point, you can head to the Ubiquitous rules tab in the dashboard and select more third-party lists to enhance privacy, etc. The preset lists enabled with this setup are:

- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gorhill/httpswitchboard/master/assets/thirdparties/someonewhocares.org/hosts/hosts
- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gorhill/httpswitchboard/master/assets/thirdparties/easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt
Remember: Restoring data from a full backup file will overwrite all your settings!

Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.
