    Well I have overcome my fears and published my first post on Medium! I chose to start off with a personal experience I had during a recent investigation. I have a number of technical posts about my research lab and the tools that I use coming up next.

    Tweet IDs encode several pieces of data, including a number identifying the datacenter that processed the tweet. Since distance affects network speed, it would be logical to handle tweets in datacenters on the same continent as the user. Can we find evidence that this is so?

    This is a GREAT technique for identifying devices and usage patterns of targets. Send at 8 AM, 9 AM, Noon ... opened on mobile. (Commute and lunch) Send between 10 and noon, opened on full device. Cool, now we know when to send the maldoc.😈

    We've all received emails with no attachment and assume it's "safe" to open in a mail client (as long as we don't explicitly click on any URLs). Right? Not so much...
