    I was utterly impressed when at a family holiday get-together, two of my cousins, who have had decent lives and are a similar age to me, confessed to buying a piece of land in Vermont and are transitioning to a life completely self-sustained and off the grid. I was openly envious

    Good god, this. Absolutely and unabashedly this.

    We need to start asking the big questions. Is our modern lifestyle vastly overrated? Should we be supporting this facade of bullshit jobs and corporate despair so nominal GDP growth can expand again next year? What actually leads to human happiness? It ain’t this.

    TLDR: Taxation currently occurs at time of a hard fork or airdrop OR when coins are "received" (IRS blurs these concepts) Proposal: Taxation should occur at time of first external transaction, signaling ownership, market price and derived utility
