I can't make it to RWC2018 so I'll match Filippo's offer. Promise to send me a write-up of the best talk you attended at RWC and I'll pay for your registration. Preference goes to students and underrepresented groups in cryptography.

I’m just looking for an interest in cryptography, no need to send some impressive piece of research! You can also tell me about a thing you learned. … but knowing I meant cryptography and not cryptocurrencies might be a requirement. We are losing that war, aren’t we?

My favorite conference of the year, Real World Crypto, is coming up, and it’s in Zurich! If you (broadly speaking) study crypto and wouldn’t attend because money, DM me something you made (a cryptopals solution, blog post, uni assignment…) and I’ll pay your registration.

I have to know how this happened. You were just walking around waving a sign which said "cperciva fan club"?

I also met on the floor (literally) of 31c3 by discovering we were both fans of , and proceeded to come up with the Tor HS attack we demoed at HITB2015AMS, but that’s another story.

“Holy khvbdfkhbskj I know Trevor Perrin!?” In such a small community, this kept happening. The lesson that the people you admire are “made of meat” and you can walk up to them stuck with me, and drives me since. 3/3

Next year, I go to my first BaySec. And he’s there! And he recognizes me, cool! While chatting, he mentions working on the Signal protocol. Oh. And then someone calls him Trevor. Wait... It was Trevor Perrin. 2/

Here’s a story that shaped my career. RWC 2013, just out of Recurse. I sit next to this guy, we chat and he tells me he designs crypto as a consultant. Cool! That’s my dream! But I don’t catch his name, alas. 1/

TIL how fast LCY airport responds to an unmarked poster tube left unattended in the check-in area. It’s fast. In other news, TIFU.

This is a first. denied me a fare because of my age. Only allowed me to book one 300€ more expensive. By the time the call center opened, the basic fare had gone up 200€. After 1h of call, no fix, no compensation, just apologies.

You might not see some big popular projects on . That's not because they are not great, but because we aimed for those where we know a little money can make a big difference.
