If not for great journalists and the many extraordinary women who shared their stories, would be sitting in that audience at the Dolby Theatre. And Hollywood would have no problem with it.

You know what pisses me off, Dana? That an 19 year old can legally purchase a semi automatic weapon, and murder my classmates. And it’s your association, the NRA, that buys off politicians’ votes. that’s what pisses me off.

Young people have helped lead all our great movements. How inspiring to see it again in so many smart, fearless students standing up for their right to be safe; marching and organizing to remake the world as it should be. We've been waiting for you. And we've got your backs.

I am optimistic about what they will achieve, but it is at an unbearable cost. An entire generation is being traumatized. Anyone who is complicit should pray that when they are old and vulnerable again, these kids will show them much more compassion than they were ever given.

This is so important. Children coming of age now are dealing with a unique confluence of factors, including social media, that are impossible for my generation (and older) to truly understand. They will change the world because they have no choice. It's an incredible burden.

People discounting what these young people from Parkland are capable of simply because they’re kids have a deep & ahistorical understanding of how some of our most meaningful social movements have unfolded. Students have always been at the forefront & often are leading the way.

when you have people mocking teenage victims of gun violence and suggesting on national tv they are "crisis actors"--one of the dumbest and most offensive conspiracy theories out there--maybe it's time to acknowledge it's not "both sides." maybe that's reality, not opinion.

17 of my classmates are gone. That’s 17 futures, 17 children, and 17 friends stolen. But you’re right, it always has to be about you. How silly of me to forget.

Parkland students who survived the massacre are making it clear: they want to "put a badge of shame" on any lawmaker who accepts money from the . They are going to make the NRA as toxic as the GOP made ACORN. Let's see if the NRA thinks it can defeat these kids.

17 people are dead. 17 of my classmates. This is how you fucking respond? How much of a heartless dick do you have to be to tweet something like this. And btw as we were running for our lives we were calling 911 to the point that they told us not to anymore.
