Agencies release plan for achieving nanotech-inspired challenge
July 29, 2016
Several federal agencies released their collective vision Friday on what they need to do to one-day create a computer “that can proactively interpret and learn from data, solve unfamiliar problems using what it has learned and operate with the energy efficiency of the human brain.” The white paper on nanotechnology, released Friday, described the innovations needed and potential challenges that would lead up to achieving the Nanotechnology-Inspired Grand Challenge for Future Computing, announced last October. The grand challenge and its white paper, released Friday, would contribute to the administration’s National Strategic Computing Initiative, which is celebrating its first anniversary today.
