I’m on episode 8, enjoying it so far. It’s like a cop drama with a superhero, with the oldschool monster of the week format (or in this case, "case of two weeks"). It’s basically cop version of W.

I ended up start watching Kamen Rider Drive, I have heard a few bad things about it, but so far is fun. The whole crime fighting hero thing reminded me of W, except this time is about a cop instead of a private detective, and they are fighting monsters disguising as humans instead of human criminals transforming into monster.

The forms are pretty ridiculous though, it even has a Las Vegas themed form.

Most people liked the ending, though I heard Kenzaki is probably the only Kamen Rider protagonist who doesn’t have a happy ending. His actor said that for him it’s a happy ending though.

I feel like things are more diverse now, but it seems not to some people because now they are making stuff other than what got them into anime back then and what they like, and people usually group "things I am not interested in" as one genre, which is usually a huge chunk of anime compare to what an individual would prefer to see. There are just lots of stuff I wish people can give a try. Not necessary to like it, but at least appreciate it as something that the creators want to show you. Like Anohana, that’s a masterpiece, and it’s definitely something you won’t see back then.
