  1. Picnik is closed. Why did Picnik close?

Since joining Google in 2010, the Picnik team has been working on Picnik while helping to create photo editing magic in Googles products. But now we get to focus. Picnik closed its doors on April 19, 2012. Below are answers to a few frequently asked questions.

  2. What happened to my account and photos after Picnik closed?

After Picnik closed on April 19, 2012, your account and photos on Picnik.com were completely deleted. If you saved the photos elsewhere, to your computer or to another site like Flickr, Facebook, or Picasa Web Albums, those photos will remain unaffected.

  3. Now that Picnik is closed, can I see a list of my zipped files?

If you still have your Takeout Menu link (found in the email you received after ordering Picnik Takeout), you will be able to see your list of files until June 19, 2012.

  4. What about my Premium refund? What if I haven't seen it yet?

All Premium refunds were successfully processed and returned to the card originally used. You may see your refund as early as January 24, 2012. Unfortunately, since Picnik's been closed for over two months, if your payment method changed, we are no longer able to reroute the refund. If you have any questions about your refund, please contact your financial institution.

  5. Will photos saved in other sites be deleted?

If you have photos saved in other sites, like Picasa Web Albums or Facebook, they will not be deleted. Only photos saved in Picnik.com were deleted.

  6. How can I copy my photos to Google+?

Open your list of zipped files, download them to your computer, and double-click the file to unzip. The photos will appear above or below the zipped file. Then, add your photos to Google+.

  7. I've created and embedded a Show in my blog, what happened to it after Picnik closed?

Since Picnik is closed, all Shows are disabled. If you used Picnik Takeout to download the photos used in the Show, you can use Smilebox's Slideshow feature to create a new embeddable slideshow.

  8. Will I still be able to use Picnik in other sites, like Flickr, Facebook, or Picasa Web Albums?

Since Picnik is closed, it is no longer available in other sites.

Photos saved in other sites will remain as they are and will not be deleted. Only photos stored in Picnik.com will be deleted.
