Guiness Book of Baseball World Records

"The Guinness Book of Records" English edition is distributed in seventy different countries, with another twenty-two editions in foreign languages. Sales of all editions exceed seventy-million and their records are verified through an advanced accreditation process that is unrivaled. Here are the records they choose to list specific to baseball.

Note: Many of these records have in fact been broken and you should check our Record Book section for up-to-the-second records. These records are simply put here as they appeared in the print edition of the book and when they update their records, we will update this page.

Do you think a different pitcher deserves the fastest pitch ever title? Could Walter Johnson throw faster? How about Robb Nen? Discuss these issues on our message board today or read an article called The Fastest Pitcher in History.

Did you know that the largest replica bat in the world is in Louisville, Kentucky? It is one-hundred twenty feet high and weighs more than thirty tons and is modelled after the bat made specifically for Babe Ruth.
