Darth Vader. Yoda. Link. Spawn. What do these characters have in common? All of them will have made an appearance in a Soulcalibur game prior to SC IV's arriving in stores July 29. From Thor to Ron Burgundy, we recently presented the list of 10 heroes we want in a Soulcalibur game. Unsurprisingly, that article attracted hundreds of comments and quite a few e-mails. Some of you liked our choices, and others hated them.

For the past few days we've been wading through these ideas to put together a new Reader's Choice feature. The following entries represent 10 of our favorites culled from a list of dozens. Don't like them? Leave your comments once more. Just remember who picked them this time.

Lion-O
Series: Thundercats

Why He Deserves It: Whatever happened to our favorite feline superheroes from Third Earth? The most we've heard from them in the last couple years was a halfhearted reference in Juno. These cats need to claw their way back to the top, and the best way to start is by guest-starring in a major videogame franchise.

Lion-O is the team leader and wielder of the Sword of Omens. This mystical blade gives him sight beyond sight and other odd powers. We like it because Lion-O can control the length of the blade by uttering a ridiculous chant. All SC fighters have an energy-charging move, but most don't have their own motto to go along with it.

Naturally, even though our readers specified Lion-O, any of the Thundercats are fair game. Panthro sports a wicked pair of nunchucks that would make Maxi tremble in fear. Cheetara is wicked fast with her bo staff and would lend a nice bit of species diversity to the lineup of SC females. The Thunder Kittens strike us as useless, but we suppose they could always throw Snarf at their enemies and call it a day.
