EARLY EDITION (Saturday, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) stars Kyle Chandler, Shanesia Davis and Fisher Stevens. What if tomorrow's newspaper arrived at your doorstep today? That's precisely what happens to Gary Hobson (Chandler), turning his world upside down. As caretaker of tomorrow's news, Gary and his friend Marissa (Davis) try to use the "early edition" to make a difference in people's lives. Stevens stars as Chuck, Gary's droll buddy, who'd rather use the advance information to bet on tomorrow's horse races.
When the newspaper predicts that a bomb will be planted in a teddy bear at a crowded skating rink, Gary seeks the help of Detective Crumb, who's been following the case of the teddy bear bomber but has yet to capture his man.
Meanwhile, when Chuck is thrown in jail for being a scofflaw, he shares a cellblock with a man who bears a striking resemblance to Santa Claus. Insisting he's the real St. Nick, Santa convinces Chuck to help him escape from jail so he can make it back to his sled and fulfill his Christmas obligations.
