What stands out in this story from System C is a principle I see across the best-performing delivery organizations: Operational foresight creates customer focus. When teams have real visibility into demand, utilization, and revenue they stop firefighting and start anticipating. That shift from reactive to proactive delivery is what allows organizations to scale with consistency and deliver value with confidence. This is exactly what "maturity" in professional services looks like. Not more process, but better alignment between people+data+delivery.

Spent some time this weekend reflecting on what came out of Data Centre World London last week. There is no debate that #cooling dominated the conversation in a way that made me thankful for making a decision to join OctaiPipe 4 months ago 😅 Liquid cooling (see Carrier HVAC, Boyd), direct-to-chip (see Panduit, Vertiv) immersion, the momentum is real. The technology is maturing, the hyperscalers are investing 💰, and frankly, when you're cooling 100kW+ racks for #GPU clusters, air just doesn't cut it. But here's what I think gets lost in the noise. The vast majority of #datacentres running today aren't GPU clusters. They're #CPU-heavy, mixed-workload environments. Your typical enterprise DC, colocators, edge deployment. Air cooling isn't going away. And for those environments, the biggest untapped efficiency lever isn't the cooling technology, it's how intelligently the cooling system is being controlled and operated. Most facilities are still running cooling logic that doesn't adapt to actual load, with fixed setpoints and conservative thresholds. Systems that were designed for worst-case and never updated. The result? Enormous #energy waste happening quietly, every single day. That's where we've been focused at OctaiPipe, and we're not standing still on liquid cooling either. Direct-to-chip and liquid cooling solutions are coming through our roadmap in the next couple of months. But the point stands... don't wait for a full infrastructure overhaul to start reducing consumption. The gains available today, on the infrastructure you already have, are significant!
